I was thinking of going downtown and just walking around and seeing whats there. I already saw the riverwalk park. Any other suggestions though? I also want to see the University. I guess I could do that.

Walk through the Capitol and grounds on the way to the University, check out the Texas History Museum and the Blanton Museum.

It's going to be 100 today. Go to Barton Springs and swim in the ice cold water!

For a good place to go just to kill some time, just a little bit west of downtown, 6th and Lamar. On one corner there's Whole Foods flagship store. It's the coolest grocery store I ever been in. On another corner is Book People, it's considered one of the best independent book stores in the nation. And across the street from there is Waterloo Record store, considered to be one of the best record stores in the nation. Next door to Waterloo is 24 hour diner. Behind Waterloo is Amy's Ice Cream store.

600 N Lamar Blvd

From 6th and Lamar, go north on Lamar to MLK and head east, MLK to Guadalupe and turn north and you'll be on the main street of UT. It's less than a 10 minute drive from 6th and Lamar

I may also be the epicenter of in-town, non-highway horrible traffic. Make sure you're wearing snug, fast shoes if you try to cross any of those intersection crosswalks
