New business park in Hutto has first groundbreaking and it is a transplant company from California. Good news for residents seeking property tax relief or further strain on infrastructure due to influx of CA to TX? Articles says 25 families moving with the company, and total of 70 jobs being brought in.

Apparently Hutto is looking for more companies to bring in from out of state as well. Thoughts?

Hutto has been making a concerted effort to grow over the last 5-10 years. They are trying to stay family-friendly at the same time they attract new businesses. They believe they are uniquely situated to take advantage of their close proximity to the growing Austin/Round Rock area, yet keep that small-town "Hutto Hippos" feel.

I have several very good friends who live in Hutto, including a former mayor. I try to visit every October for the Hutto Olde Tyme Days festival & parade. It's a great little town. Good luck to them.

I hope Hutto can maintain that "small town" feel, but after seeing its long-time population of 440 people jump to 15,000 or 20,000 in just a couple of decades, they have their work cut out for them.

My youngest son bought a decent foreclosure house in Hutto Parke 6 years ago - and it has more than doubled in value already. He likes living there because it is not as crowded as Austin & Round Rock.... yet.

My wife's family was from Taylor where she grew up from the 1940s-early '60s, so we've seen massive changes in that part of Wilco. Her grandpa moved there from Bastrop around 1905 and built many of the old houses & some churches in the area.

We hope the newcomers have as good a life as her family did.

As we speak, the Co-op property behind my house is being developed. I'm a little bit excited for it, because now my 14 year old and her friends will have a very close by place to hang out! I'm really happy about the movie theater, and the larger library.

Default Hutto Infiltrated

i like how nobody answered the question specifically.... when this went down it put a Hutto in a sticky spot. But it will come to pass and most everyrhing is the same.

If actual American companies from any of the states want to move here, that's cool. it's a good place and everyone deserves to experience the awesomeness that is Hutto.

And I mean everyone. so if any fake American companies want to move in, "Welcome." Good news you're here for property tax relief and the influx allows for better infrastructure and more police.

If you're from out of state, come on in! We come in peace here and most of us represent our state motto appropriately. Yee-Haw, pew pew pew pew, got you, friend!
