Yes. For the last couple of months they have been working on I35 at the Wm Cannon Exit.

I agree with User Error. If there is really not that much interstate traffic on 35 (only 15% of traffic) then it shouldn't be an issue if we divert it onto Mopac. SH45 will route traffic onto Mopac.

Oh yes, I'm sure 15% of the traffic of a 4 lane highway will make no difference to a 3 lane highway (sarcasm).

It's the difference between free flowing and completely stopped.

About the legality, interstates can be rerouted anytime. Just look at the reroute of I-95 in PA/NJ.

Add 30,000+ more vehicles daily to MoPac, including several thousand 18 wheelers? Gee, what could go wrong?

Holy crap!

Well is your plan that the new daily fatalities on MoPac after implementing your plan will cause a decrease in the population of Austin, therefore improving traffic flow????

Rapid transit train down the middle of I35 from Round Rock to around 15th street. Let everyone figure it out after it's built. Take the two innermost lanes of I35 where necessary. Problem solved. And no, it doesn't stop at "your house."
