I read his book when I was in college. He's a smug toolbag, and so are most of his fans, which makes his official reason for moving to Austin pretty rich in irony. My guess is that he found Silicon Valley venture capital is too big a pond for his get-rich-quick schemes and wants a less VC saturated start-up scene.
