You can get from eastern most city limits of Dripping Springs to 290/71 and Wm Cannon in about 12 minutes if its not rush hour. Shortly after you cross Wm Cannon, 290/71 becomes a freeway, and from there you can be at 290/71 and 35 in another 12 minutes or so.

If it's not rush hour, you can make the trip in about 24 minutes. If it is rush hour, it might take 45 minutes to an hour to make that trip

When I was working in Oak Hill, we would sometimes drive to Dripping Springs for lunch and we'd make it back to work in plenty of time.

I live in Belterra, which isn't even DS proper. No way 24 minutes. When we take early flights from ABIA, at 0430, it takes 20 minutes minimum to 35.

That's pretty much what I said, -- *when it's not rush hour*, it's maybe 24 minute drive from DS to 35 and 290/71. You said 20 to 35 minutes. My 24 minute estimation is well within your estimation range of 20 to 35 minutes.

I am going to DS tomorrow. (Sunday). I'm gonna time it from 35 and Ben White to "Dripping Springs City limits".

No, I didn't say the same thing you did. I said how long it takes from Belterra. It is 6 miles from the entrance of Belterra to the eastern most part of DS. So, add 6 minutes to my time from Belterra. Which makes a minimum of 26 minutes.

Which just happens to be what Google maps shows as travel time right now.

I won't respond again. Just take note that the OP stated 10-20 minutes.

I agree with SW Austin (haivng recently moved from that area). There are lots of fine communities out Southwest Parkway, and it is pretty easy to get on 290/71 (go down Southwest Parkway, right on Boston Lane, right on 290/71 feeder, turn around at the first opportunity (where the Chevron/7-11 is) and then you are on 290/71 with a straight shot to 35 with minimal traffic (usually). Check out Travis Country West, Lantana, Travis Country.

Lakeway, The Hills, Bee Cave, Alta Vista, etc, Live in the area, nice homes in general, and great schools. Your better shot is over $500,000, yet still you can find homes under that price.

Driving is more than 20 minutes... but it is worthwhile.

Highly subjective. Many people can afford over 500k and choose not to live West of mopac for a reason.
