Looking for feedback on Cool Box Portable Storage for our local move and storage needs.

Currently there is more feedback on competitors like PODS, Pack Rat, and ABF-UPack despite Cool Box coming in significantly lower on quotes. Appreciate any feedback on Cool Box or using PODS type storage for moves!

Thanks!

We just used Cool Box this week to store all of our furniture while we wait for our new home to be built. At first I was a bit skeptical because their prices are literally half of what PODS wanted but Im so glad we used them. The box is literally insulated-we were packing in the middle of the day and standing inside the box was much cooler than outside. The same driver dropped off and picked up our box- very professional and nice. I asked why their prices are so much cheaper- its because they use a flatbed truck (similar to a tow truck) to move the boxes. PODS uses a special crane type truck which is much more expensive to buy and operate. So the pricing difference is based on operating costs- not quality of product.

I was extremely impressed with ABF U-Pack when I sent a child to Portland. Safe, reliable and very economical.

I used ABF for my move out here from the Bay Area. Everything arrived in one piece!

Used coolbox about 6 months ago had movers load it and coolbox stored it for 6 months and then dropped it back off at the new house. No damage no water or dust inside everything was just as we put it in there and the people where nice and took care of us plus the price was great compared to the others. We would use again if needed to.

This made me chuckle. I'm sure that you didn't send the child IN the ABF U-Pack.

A friend used ABF for a long distance move and she was extremely impressed. They provided two guys to help her unload and they were, by far, the best movers I've ever seen. I'd highly recommend them.

Thank you all for the replies (and the laughs)!

We now have a CoolBox in our driveway and so far have been very impressed with the customer service, delivery, and construction of the box. It really is "cooler" inside which makes it a bit more bearable to load when the temps outside have climbed over 100! And for a local move you really can't beat their pricing which is much lower than their competitors and includes free pick-up and delivery within 30 miles.

Thanks for the update! I am desperately hoping no such storage option will be necessary when we go from 3600ft and three-bay garage down to 2100ft and two-car garage. We are seriously moving stuff 'out' and hope to make the move in one fell swoop. Now, if anyone needs some serious antique pieces from the 1700s, come on down!!!

I'm using CoolBox right now. The price is right if it's a local move. It's cost prohibitive if you want to go outside their 30 mile range. $5 a mile over 30 miles and $10 a mile over 60 miles. That's what makes them different from the other guys. It's basically a local thing, hence the lower price.
