Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum, will be moving to Austin next week. My office is located in Pecan park (near Anderson Mill). I need to find a rented place within 2-3 weeks. Initially i will be alone and my wife and kid (6 months old) will join later. could you please suggest me a good locality for families nearby.

Assuming a 2BR minimum? What kind of price range, and where is your wife working or driving to on a consistent basis? Tons of options in 10-15 minute drive of that area, including some smaller single family homes.

What are you looking for outside of just the apartment? Amenities, nightlife, etc...

Sorry for less details.. here are my options,

a spacious 1 BR or 2 BR, we don't need anything bigger now. 700 -1000 rent is OK for me. My wife will not be working immediately. may be we will buy a house after sometime.. in a year or so. I am looking for a safe neighborhood with some grocery store or shopping places nearby.

Take a look at
IMT Anderson Mill
McNeil Ranch
Turtle Creek (Anderson Mill)

There's also the Artisan, and a new complex right behind it on Amberglen - both are decent and convenient for you.

Stay away from the Colonial property on McNeil (Quarry Oaks). That company is a nightmare.

That whole area is safe, just remember to stick to the speed limit on Anderson Mill!

Just drove by the new ones on Amberglen today - it's the Camden Amber Oaks. Now, they're not done building there, so you may want to avoid it since there will likely be a bunch of construction noise. They're also all 1BR, and their prices looked a little steep for that area.
