Does any of you guys get the Audi oil change done at local chain stores? I just found out Kwik Kar does oil services that starts at $69.99. I've been paying over $200 at local indi shop so far.
In addition, how often you guys change the oil? Once yearly or more frequently?
Whatever your owner's manual says. Probably 10k/1 year.
Personally I'd never let a Quiky Lube type place touch anything. Whether or not it's worth $200 really just depends on the local indie. A good indie shop will do a brief visual inspection similar to an Audi dealer. A bad one won't. An even worse one will then try and upsell a bunch of unnecessary fake work. Last time I was at the dealer on a $70 oil change coupon they wanted to charge $90 to vacuum out the battery vents.
I get a high-quality synthetic and only change my oil 1 time per year (unless I go over 15k/yr which I don't).
I do this with two vehicles, a Chevy and a Toyota, and never had any problems since 2007.
I used to go to the quick lube places and it was just a hassle to go every 3 months for each vehicle not to mention expensive. Buy a high-quality synthetic, do it yourself, or if that is not possible take it to a local mechanic and you are good for a year!
hopefully, your year/make/model has the Signature Series available after you search.
