We just found out we're being relocated to Atlanta from Houston, TX in about 3 weeks. My job will be in the Buckhead area where GA400 and I85 intersect. We need to find an apartment quick. Does anyone have suggestions as to decent places to reside? any recommendations of complexes? townhouses? We realize we won't be able to live in Buckhead, it seems a little pricey, but we would like to be as close as possible, be relatively safe, and have an affordable place to live. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can also go to apartmentratings.com and click on Georgia and the Atlanta area, and read comments renters post about various complexes. Googling atlanta apartment services will probably bring up a whole list of apartment locator services along with what peace2u listed as well.

The key in Atlanta is to live as close as possible to where you will be working. Trust me, you will be much happier. There are lots of nearby apartment complexes, try looking in the Lindbergh, Peachtree Hills, Morningside, Piedmont Heights neighborhoods. To a lesser extent you could also try North Druid Hills. There are other places where you could look but I would start in these areas. Of course it depends on what you mean by affordable but you should be able to find something in one of these areas.

Personally I have friends who live or have lived in 1660 Peachtree, The Heights at Cheshire Bridge, Monroe Place and the Clifton Apartments. All of them seem like nice communities and my friends don't seem to have any major complaints.
