There are lots of news stories online, but this one from May gives a pretty good idea of what the village development will look like. The annexation and rezoning went through. Last time I drove out there, a month or so ago, it appeared land clearing was about to get underway.

This is directly EAST of the studio. The traffic circle at the upper right is the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Sandy Creek Road. The Pinewood Production Center, where the Georgia Film Academy is going, is on the NE corner of that intersection. The main entrance traffic circle is directly across from what is, at present, the construction entrance. The studio itself is only half built. Another 10-12 sound stages, production buildings, office space, a back-lot and more is still coming. Sooner rather than later, I'm sure.

Several hundred more acres on both the north and south sides of the studio property will be developed later as demand rises.

ON A RELATED MATTER ... The Dolce Atlanta Hotel and Conference Center in Peachtree City, which Great Wolf tried to buy and turn into a water park earlier this year, has been acquired by Atlanta-based Apsilon Hotels LLC. They will spend several million more to upgrade the property and re-brand it as Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Peachtree, with luxury accommodations and resort amenities. It will, obviously, be marketed at the film industry. And without Pinewood Studios, something of this magnitude simply never ever would have happened. Another great example of the film industry's ripple economic impact.

I'm still incredulous that there is a market for yet another Spiderman movie...
