Would love to see a site plan explaining where the hotel, the townhouses, and the condo/office building will all fit on the Studioplex site. While they mention the intersection of Edgewood Ave. and the Beltline, I'm not so optimistic as to guess this means an early demise for that ugly self-storage facility located there now.

The parking deck for the hotel is well underway, I see the progress every day on my bike ride to work. The deck is four or five stories. The site is on the southern end of Studioplex on Airline Street. It doesn't look like it will affect the storage facility.

A project that will bring 19 townhomes atop 31,000 square feet of retail with Beltline frontage is set to break ground this month, developers said in a press release.

Meanwhile, plans for a boutique hotel at the portion of the Studioplex compound that faces Irwin Street have apparently stalled. Companies involved in the hotel venture have repeatedly declined comment, but it doesn’t look like they’ll meet their projected opening of busy Labor Day 2017 in Atlanta.

Even though prices of residence along the Beltline will generally speak to it being an attraction/asset, is there anyone who would NOT want to live along the Beltline, even if you otherwise love it and use it?

Of course, I'm talking about people who want to live in the city to begin with, not people who wouldn't live near the location of the Beltline whether it existed or not.

Residences at Studioplex
19 townhomes, starting at $1.4M

Below the townhomes, confirmed retail tenants thus far include Butter & Cream ice cream, an Asian restaurant concept, juice bar, cocktail bar from the 18:21 Bitters crew, and an unnamed pizza concept by the former purveyors of O4W Pizza.

Pretty large townhomes, 3000+ sq ft, but I hate how new townhome floorplans that are getting skinnier and taller to fit more sqft in a smaller lot.

Pretty expensive too, seems like a massive premium for being on the beltline. I guess there are people that will pay this?

People will pay that to be in Midtown or Avalon so I'm not surprised they'd pay to be on the Beltline.

I don't think these are very skinny. They're over 20' wide, which is decently wide for a townhome.

Saying it's walking distance to Piedmont Park might be a bit of a stretch. It's over two miles to the very corner of the park. By that measure, Northside Drive and Lindbergh are both walking distance to Piedmont Park (and yes, I know that a dedicated path is different). Actually, Krog is the only one of those places under a mile. But still, fronting the Beltline and with a townhome like that, they'll easily sell for a premium. $1.4m seems quite high, but I'm sure they will sell.
