I am a mom of 3 plan to drive my Sienna from Mesa,AZ to Fort Worth TX via i10 are there still snow in the area?

I have lived in Colorado for some time, I know how to drive in the snow. I just do not know the snow situation now in AZ I am concerned about the hike/climb as I have all season tires.

I saw old posts and the suggestions are as follows:

take I-10 south from Phoenix towards El Paso, go east to I-20.Take I-20 to I-35W to Dallas Ft Worth.

Has anyone ever drove these route and whats the incline situation?

That route should be snow free as far as I can tell.

The max elevation along that route is around Willcox, AZ where it gets to about 5000 feet. There's a few more places in the mid-4000 range in NM and TX. It is not likely you will see snow at all at those elevations and it would be light even if you did. A bigger risk on that route this time of year (late Feb-March)) is blowing dust east of Tucson.

AZ511 has webcams on the highways if you are concerned.

It is very doubtful that you will encounter much snow, and probably not much until you get to Texas.

The entire route is fairly flat once you cross into New Mexico. And by flat, I do NOT mean Kansas-flat but I mean that there are few mountains.

Do remember that there are vast stretches of I-10 that are very remote and that you will want to make sure that you fill up when you have teh opportunity.

With the border situation I will take extra caution to fill up continuesly. Thanks for the heads up.

There is no "border situation" of concern to a traveler on I10. Also, there are plenty of places to get gas along I-10. The prices of the ones at some of the minor exits can be higher though, so stick to the Flying J, Loves, Petro, etc stops for best prices, better restrooms etc.
