In November 2016, voters in Arizona will vote on Prop 205 to Legalize Recreational Marijuana in Arizona, over and above the legal use of medical marijuana in the state.

How will you vote on this ballot issue?

The poll is private, no one will know how you vote.

Though a non-scientific poll, it will be interesting to gauge the sentiment among posters on this site.

Please, Arizona residents only. Thank you.

Opinions welcome.

I don't smoke but to me it is a complete business decision. The industry of marijuana isn't going anywhere, why force it into a black market.

-allows for legitimate businesses to grow/start in the area.
-New Taxable income
-Distribution/marketing/growing/selling/ etc. etc. dependent and tangential economic benefits.
-less money spent by the state tracking down and imprisoning/prosecuting marijuana related offences.

Its a win on all sides tbh

You should be free to do any consensual activity that doesn't harm other people including smoking Marijuana.

I will be voting for legalization. The argument against legalization from our elected officials is just a ploy to keep people incarcerated for petty offenses like marijuana possession and DUI due to the detection of trace amounts days or weeks after the user has smoked it or ingested it.

Even though I dislike marijuana & have no use for potheads, I'm definitely voting for recreational legalization. There's no reason to keep substances like this illegal when all it does is increase trade via the underground market. Making it illegal & criminal hasn't stopped the trade, nor has it stopped the usage or the addiction. I don't like the government regulatory agency this will create if passed ... however, I'm still voting for the initiative simply because our tax dollars have been wasted enough on fighting this ridiculous drug war, as well imprisoning people for possession.

I don't do it myself, but there's nothing wrong with weed. People that routinely do it are some of the most absolutely benign people I've ever met and known. I've seen that it also has a way of uniting polar opposite social groups in a way few other things can. Yes it does impair you, but it's totally different from alcohol and the ones I've known mostly just sit around, eat, and giggle while doing it.

On the other hand, alcohol is completely legal and throughout my entire life I've seldom seen anything good come of it. Anger, drunk driving, fights, etc. Although loosening up shy people at parties with some light drinking is one of very few positive things I've seen from it.

Legalize the weed and be happy with the taxes that come in. Most will gladly pay it simply for the legality of it.

I'll vote for it, make it legal like Colorado and the others states that followed suit.

I'm in Denver all the time, Denver exploded at around the time of legalization and the city seems to be doing great. I always love going there.

It's a bad proposition and not a true legalization effort but better than putting people in jail for a plant. This should be viewed as a rest stop on the way to the final destination and not the final destination itself.
