I can understand the "don't move here it's terrible" sentiment when you love your state and don't want it to get ruined by transplants, but hasn't Arizona been discovered since like the 80s already? I can understand if you're from Michigan or Louisiana (states with very few transplants/strong native born pop) but it's not like Arizona is some best kept secret, the entire country has been moving there for decades now.

This thread is all about satire - it is meant to poke fun at the "good" and the "bad" things about AZ.

For example, here in Germany, I have only seen the sunshine for a couple of hours so far during January. If I were in Arizona right now, I would have to make sure I don't leave home without my sunglasses nearly every day, even in the wintertime! Terrible, just terrible!

When you said '80s, I hope you meant 1880s because that's about when the Arizona Territory was being settled, and when Phoenix became incorporated as a new city. People have been coming to Arizona to see wonders like the Grand Canyon ever since. The rapid growth began shortly after WWII, and has continued to this day. Arizona was a destination of some kind for well over a century. The difference is that things have changed quite a bit from the days of the Old West, and only recently has Arizona become one of the larger populated states.

There's nuttin' to see here in AZ, move along, move along. Should have dammed up that big crack in the ground years ago, then we'd have plenty of water! At least put a bridge and a freeway over it.

Bring the Wild West back, yee-haw!

My move to SW AZ has been a challenge. Driving the local hi-ways and bi-ways is like playing F R O G G E R in real life. Constantly dodging Javelinas, dear, and other wildlife.

I do appreciate the clear and sunny skies allow for good visibility.

The 4 surrounding mini-mountain ranges block good flat-land viewing too so need to be OK with dramatic sierras and peaks.

So overrated.

You do realize you're encroaching on their territory. They probably have the same thing to say about you. :

In Florida people used to worry about the alligators until a solution was found: Alligator bites, breaded and deep fried. Are Javelinas good eats?

Yes they are. They are also very lean meat.
