One of the handful of cities in Colombia that are not so dense (although still dense by US standards)..

Montería

I'm a fan of driving or walking videos as it's a good way of seeing what real life is like there, not just a tourism video with the most interesting sites. Even better is a series by Japan's NHK World where a film crew walks around and ask locals questions. My favorite episode filmed in the Americas is in La Paz, Bolivia.

The innovative, forward thinking side of medellin often gets overlooked in favour of tatas&arse but the truth of the matter is you can easily get away from the pockets of this seedy, foreigner infested scene. Medellin's tech & start up culture is booming as exemplified by the following street tour and a lot of the city is quaint & traditionalist.

^^That's awesome. I wish we would see more things like that spread to other countries. It's to be applauded.

Recent walking videos in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (currently the largest city in the Caribbean). This is with the current Covid-19 pademic, so international tourism has basically collapsed until normalcy returns.

Downtown Center is a relatively new retail/office complex built by the Puerto Rico based Caribbean Cinemas company. You guessed it, it has a movie theater and it's a Caribbean Cinema.

Galería 360 is purely a shopping mall built by Dominican investors.

Sambil is the largest shopping mall in the Dominican Republic and only two or three malls are bigger in Puerto Rico as far as malls in the Caribbean is concerned. This is also the first Sambil outside of Venezuela and it was built by the Caracas based company.

Another mall, Ágora Mall was built by Dominican investors. In my opinion, this is the nicest looking one in the city.

Walking on the pedestrian Calle El Conde in the older part of Santo Domingo. At the end you can see Ferry del Caribe at the Don Diego Port which connects Santo Domingo with San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Walking along Churchill Avenue in the modern part of Santo Domingo. Notice the new light fixtures. They were placed about three to four months ago by the city government, replacing the old ones that were battered by all sorts of storms that hit the city. Hopefully, fixing the sidewalk on some stretches is next.

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

A stroll through Parque Iberoamericano two days ago. Iberoamérica is basically Spanish America, Brazil, Portugal, and Spain. (Dec 27, 2020) As anyone can see, people aren't letting a pademic get in the way of living life.

A stroll through the malecón in the afternoon/evening of the day after Christmas 2020.

Said to be the only hypersonic vehicle on the regular streets of Latin America arrives in J Balvin's old neighbourhood. The orgasmic reactions makes me chuckle.
