It's all the same to me. if I'm at a party I toss it all in a red cup, rum, whisky, vodka, bourbon, tequila, it all goes in one cup. I found I don't like the taste of gin, though.

We drink our Captains with diet coke, so we like to ask the bartender for a "Skinny Pirate".

Third option both..

I see what juice or beverage I have on hand then choose the liquor to make that mixer...

Be it vodka or rum, tequila or Jim Beam, moonshine or campari, sambuco or Bailey's.. etc.

I do tons of pre meal drinks, wines for meals and after meal drinks n alcoholic desserts during the holidays.
Nite caps too.

Dark. Bourbon, brandy, and cream sherry are among my favorites. Tequila sometimes makes me nauseous.

If I had to choose only one, Courvoisier would be my first choice, followed closely by some form of Irish whiskey.

Fortunately, we don't have to choose.

Clear, I consistently get nauseous and headaches from dark liqueur. I am pretty much off whisky, rum, and tequila. We have all different qualities and priced alcohols, but I find the most versatile and pleasurable to be vodka and gin.

I don't even understand how such or such makes people feel a certain way- I think it's in their head.

Well, since in many cases, the color is only coloring added to make it *look* that way, you would be correct. Distilled alcohols tend to be clear/colorless. The colorings added, such as 'caramel color', are the same colorings they would be consuming without complaint in other things.
