OK, since this is my favorite basic food group, and all of these political arguments are making me hungry, I needs some suggestions. I'm always looking for new places. So far, on my list:

Anchorage - F Street Station on (of all places) F street.
Homer - Land's End Restaurant at the end of the spit.
Valdez - Alaska Halibut House on Meals Ave.
Seward - Nellie's Roadhouse on 4th Ave.

What say all of you?

If you like a great burger, head out towards Glennallen and stop at the Brown Bear Roadhouse about five miles before town. Up north, stop in at Clear Sky Ranch for a great burger, too. Monderossa north of Nenana has a great burger, too.

Also worth an honorable mention for Fish & Chips is The City Diner in Anchorage.

And, though not technically in Alaska (but might just as well be for the amount of time I spend there), is Anthony's Fish & Chips at SEA-TAC

I have yet to see Haines, too. 17 Canadian crossings and I have yet to go there. One of these days!
