Boomer, I agree with you. The Lodge is really fantastic. We go occaisionally for the buffet on friday evening. The food is quite good and reasonably priced. The view from the deck is like on a postcard. After dinner, we drive down the road to the campground, and look at all the deer. It certainly shouldn't be missed...

Fort Toulouse, Wind Creek State Park, Mt. Cheehaw State Park, and Desoto Caverns are amoung some of my favorite spots in South-Cental Alabama.

Check out rtjgolf.com/trail (Robert Trent Jones) if you are a golfer. Several courses scattered around the state.

Unique and Interesting Places to visit in the USA ... Collinsville, AL is known for an unusual flea market, not quaintness. ... It's the gateway to the Little River, a designated state wild and scenic river. Gorp has more info. ..... Summer is always very busy and parking is really tight on day trips, but possible. ...

Check our June Historical Downtown Tours in many of the smaller towns. Gadsden is having one each Saturday morning at 10 AM . Today the topic is on the many theaters that were downtown Gadsden in the past. Mike Goodson does a great job telling the history of Gadsden to his tour participants. He did a Ghost Tour of Gadsden last October. More info- call 256-546-8929 and ask for Terry
