Be sure you check out Gulf Shores, AL - some people call it the Redneck Riviera and I love it there! Same white sandy beaches as Panama City, FL, without all the students. It isn't far from Mobile. It would be a great taste of gulf of Mexico life.

A few miles to the east is Orange Beach. More upscale. Fewer t-shirt shops.

Since you'll be coming through during the Fall, catching a football game in either Tuscaloosa or Auburn is an experience. There's nothing like SEC football. Plus Auburn is a great little town.

You can start from the top of the state to the bottom. The history of the state along with the natural diverse beauty is top notch!!!

take the drive from Shelbyville Tenn to Fayetteville Tenn down highway 231 .. winding roads so tight you can see your own tail lights in some of the curves ,,
