In addition to the forum-wide Terms of Service, these are some guidelines specific to posting at the Alabama forums…

Links – Please don’t post links only. Include some commentary so readers understand why you posted the link and so they’ll have a general idea what the link content is.

Racism/Civil Rights – A reminder from the TOS - “All posts unrelated to local matters will be deleted or moved. Threads dealing with controversial topics that often degenerate into flame wars, such as politics or religion, may be moved, closed, or deleted by moderators at their discretion without any warning to the participants.”

Bashing – A range of opinions are welcome and encouraged – particularly when providing feedback for posters seeking relocation information. For example, it’s perfectly acceptable to say that one area of town has more services and better infrastructure than another – and to provide details that support that assertion. What’s not acceptable is chronic, excessive, or hyperbolic negativity.

Soliciting/Advertising: No matter how good the cause, advertising or soliciting for any reason is not allowed on this site.

Please use the report icon (red triangle on top right of each post) to report posts that violate TOS instead of quoting or engaging with those posters. Thank you in advance for helping to keep the Alabama forums active and fun for everyone reading and participating!

To confirm what most already have surmised, toosie has passed the moderation of the Alabama forums to me. Please DM me with any issues.

I am currently mod for the Alabama forums. To reiterate, divisive politics is not appropriate for this forum. Calmly discussing local politics is fine.

Example - Allowed - "It looks like Mobile is increasingly voting Democratic."

Not allowed - "It looks like Mobile is increasingly voting Democratic, now the city will be ruined like all the other Democratic cities in the US."

Allowed - "How do you think the new mayor is doing?"

Not allowed - "He's just as bad as all the other GOP mayors, they don't care about people."
