Zombie Joe's Underground Theatre Group

Zombie Joe's Underground Theatre began in August of 1992. Originally, the performances were held in a small industrial garage in Northridge. The theatre has grown and today has a cult following of theatre lovers who enjoy gory, scary and macabre performances. Performances are progressive and viewed as vital experiments of art in honor of Antonin Artaud. The theatre repeatedly wins awards for Artistic Director Achievement from the Valley Theater League. Zombie Joe's is located in the NoHo District, which is the home of the North Hollywood Theatre District. Previous performances have been primarily dark and suspenseful and have included Demon Valley Dreams, Love Me Deadly, Skin and Teeth, Slither, Deep White Sludge, Urban Death, Alice Works Wonderland, 7DS (Seven Deadly Sins) and Splendid Misery. The theatre shows a weekly production of Late Night Death, entertaining vignette stories, every Saturday at 11 pm. The theatre is surprisingly small, but theatre-goers report that the production staff makes the best of the space. The seating capacity is less than 30, so tickets may sell out quickly. Visitors may be lucky enough to meet Zombie Joe at the entrance of the theatre prior to the show. Those looking for an unusual night out who love horror and mystery will enjoy a performance at Zombie Joe's.
