Santa Monica Farmers Market

Santa Monica is a rich city for farmers markets. A number of farmers markets are held in Santa Monica, California each week. Their location may change, but often the vendors do not. Wednesday and Saturday Santa Monica Farmers Market can be found at Arizona Avenue and 2nd Street. Hours are 8:30am to 1:30pm. Also on Saturday is the 2200 Virginia Avenue location open from 8 to 10am. Sunday the market is at 2640 Main Street from 9:30am to 1pm.

The market offers events each month to keep individuals interested in fresh produce and supporting local farms. For example, the 2010 Quarterly Panel Series is one event that happens each quarter on an annual basis. Topics can include "Is it Organic" and other farming topics. At other times Santa Monica Farmers Market can have a petting farm, choir, Santa Claus, and reindeer displays. The market does close on and around major holidays like Christmas. Since California is able to produce a variety of different vegetables and fruits, the markets are open all year with different seasonal items. Food booths, souvenir items, and above all organic products are found at over 60 stalls with the Santa Monica Farmers Market.
