San Luis Obispo Little Theatre


San Luis Obispo Little Theatre has been around for 63 years, having opened their doors in 1947. This San Luis Obispo, California theater is popular among residents of the city and surrounding area. Since they opened they have offered 400 stage productions in 20 different locations. Their current location is at the former SLO County Public Library, which is in the center of town. Musicals, comedies, dramas, and other shows are provided for young and older generations. They also have an academy of theater to teach younger generations acting skills, self esteem, and other life skills.

The theater has survived all of these years, not only due to the money made from performances but also donations from prominent residents like Ray Hatler. Performances can or have included Nuncrackers, The Nutcracker, Readers Theater, The Lion/ Witch and Wardrobe, This is Rock 'n' Roll, The Gin Game, and Spinning into Butter. Most often there is a week's worth of one show in order to be available at different times and days. Once one performance is over another usually begins.

Tickets range from $15 to $22 based on the attendee. Students with ID get the most savings, with seniors saving a few dollars off of general admission.
