Point Fermin Park

Point Fermin Park is situated on 37 acres of beautifully landscaped property. The Park features lush lawns, sheltered pergolas, vibrant gardens and a walkway along the edge of the palisade. This scenic park is the southernmost point in Los Angeles. The Park offers visitors a magnificent view of coastline and Santa Catalina Island. It is common for observant travelers to spot dolphins and harbor seals from the cliffs. The facilities include a playground, picnic tables, and an amphitheater. There are two paths leading to the beach below. Point Fermin is a destination spot for those interested in observing the colorful Monarch butterflies that winter in the park grounds. The unique Point Fermin Lighthouse can be seen towering over the tall palm trees on the bluffs above the beach. Admission to the lighthouse is open to the public on a regular schedule. Point Fermin Park is considered by many to be the prettiest park in the Los Angeles area. It's a wonderful spot to relax and watch the ocean. Parking is adequate on most days. The park's large size and its closeness to several fun locations in San Pedro make it perfect for picnicking. The park is open sunrise to sunset daily. There is a colorful café located just outside the park entrance that is occasionally used as a movie location.
