Holmby Park

This community park is open from dawn until dusk everyday and visitors stand a good chance of running in to a celebrity they may recognize from television, the movies, or sports. There are barbecue pits, picnic tables, and a kid's play area in the park, making it a great destination for families and friends, or those just out for a stroll or jog. The park has a reputation for being meticulously maintained and welcomes some of the most affluent park-goers in Los Angeles. The Spelling mansion, former home of famous television producer Aaron Spelling, overlooks the park. Right up the road from the park is the Playboy Mansion, located on Charing Cross. There is a little waterfall and river in the park, but it is often dry. Parking is free in the area, but occasionally difficult to find. It is also difficult to get into and out of your vehicle after parking because the street is so busy. If you have to park on the opposite side from the park, it may take quite awhile to get from your car to where you are going. The park also features an 18-hole golf course. There is a fenced-in area for the younger kids to prevent them from wandering off, which really puts parent's minds at ease since the streets are so busy.
