Graber Olive House

Graber Olive House is located at East Fourth Street in Ontario, California and is approximately 40 miles from Los Angeles. The land was purchased in 1892 by C.C. Graber, who then took to curing barrels of olives. The production and sale of olives at the house began in 1894 and is the oldest existing business in Ontario.

The property opens daily Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm with guided tours of the property available throughout the year except on major public holidays. In the fall visitors can see the various activities and processes involved in grading, curing and canning the olives. The same machines and recipes are used as those invented by Mr Graber back in the late 19th century.

The Graber olives are picked from the trees only when they are fully ripened and as a result are cherry red colored with meaty and nutlike flavour. The tours end with an opportunity to visit the gift shop, where visitors are allowed to sample some of the produce. The shop here offers visitors the chance to purchase various souvenirs and gifts, which apart from olives include sweets, nuts, dates, wine and gift baskets.
