Discovery Science Center

The Discovery Science Center, located at 2500 N. Main St, Santa Ana, CA, features more than 100 hands-on science exhibits designed to engage children's curiosity about how things work. Its ten-story solar array cube off of Interstate 5 has become a visual landmark.

The center is divided into several areas for exploration: Discovery Stadium, Perception, Quake Zone, Techno Arts, Dynamic Earth, Air & Space and a Kidstation targeted for children 5 years old and younger. Some exhibits within the museum include a fossil dig and the science of hockey.

In addition to the exhibits, the center provides educational programs that align with the California science standards and are intended to help students improve their science skills. The center offers field trip programs, as well as Science-to-Go and assembly programs where center employees go to the schools.

The Digital Lab on the center's second floor provides classes for students and adults to learn word processing, web design, digital photography and more.

The Discovery Science Center, just 32 miles southeast of Los Angeles, is open on Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
