Deep

The Deep is a house music event that produces the best electronic DJ and live act performances. Its first show was in 1999 and has gained hundreds of devoted fans of all types. Initially the Deep was a weekly event hosted at the Viper Room in Los Angeles, but it quickly outgrew that venue and moved to the Vanguard. Once again, the Deep outgrew the capacity of its venue and now produces shows on roughly a monthly basis and rotates locations.

The creator Marques Wyatt, with a dedication to quality music and an open-multi cultural environment, has been able to appeal to a cross section of society. On the dance floor one can find freestyle break dancers alongside more free-spirited contemporary dancers. Young and old alike have flocked to these events with the expectation of great music and dancing.

The Deep's past performers have included house music legends like Little Louie Vega, Frankie Knuckles and David Morales. A broad range of live performers have also appeared at the Deep including Tony Humphries, Dennis Ferrer, Tortured Soul, Dimitri from Paris and the Martinez Brothers. One of the event's highlights occurred when Prince emerged from the shadows, climbed on stage and tinkered with Kerri Chandler's keyboard.
