California Museum of Photography


The California Museum of Photography is located in Riverside and does its best to share the art and history of photographers and a few distinct photographers. Its exhibits includes collections made up of of Zeiss Ikon, Will Connell, The Kodak Brownie, Keystone-Mast, Bingham Technology, University Print, UCR/CMP Study Center Library, Digital Virtual and Ansel Adams/Fiat Lux. This is considered the most comprehensive photographic center in the western part of the country and focuses not just on the work of the artists but the development of the medium and technology. The museum offers education programs like First Sundays when families can enjoy activities for free during a trip to downtown Riverside. The Digital Studio is a learning environment that allows visitors hands-on access to the latest technology through workshops and other opportunities. Prints are for sale through the museum store and online print websites. The most popular products for sale include the prints of Ansel Adams. The museum offers 54 images from Adams' collection which can be purchased in a variety of different forms. Membership to the museum is available and provides members with a chance to support the ongoing efforts of the museum.
