Description: Wave Masters Surf Contest, the largest, open, amateur surfing contest in North Florida began years ago when the Wave Masters, a ever-growing group of 25-and-older doctors, insurance agents, construction workers, and computer programmers whose sole commonality was a love of longboards, staged a contest with the hope of raising the image of surfing in the community (and raising a little money for local charities). The contest was a success and has evolved into Florida’s favorite, open, amateur surfing contest. This annual event draws over 300 competitors from all over the Southeast and thousands of enthusiastic spectators.
