Insider Pick:

Description: Part of Waterbury’s cultural renaissance, the Palace Theater has been renovated at the cost of $35 million, and you can tell. With marbled panels, private boxes draped in velvet, red carpets, and gold leaf, the Palace is an architectural delight. It brings in musicians like Leonard Cohen and speakers like Anthony Bourdain, in addition to featuring musical theater and other performances throughout the Sept to May season. It’s a not-for-profit arts center, and staffed by volunteers who love the Palace and love Waterbury and will make your visit special. There is a snack bar and 3 drinks bars with incredibly inexpensive beers and cocktails. This is a huge theater with many great places to see the show from, but try rows D through H in section 1C.
