I have been living in the Lake Wylie area for about one and a half years now. I can't help but notice that I am one of the few people that slows down at intersections that have lower speed signs before those intersections. There are several on Hands Mill Highway and no one seems to care. There must be a reason why this signs were installed; but if no one obeys these sign; then why have them? After using the recycling facility on Hands Mill Highway at the intersection of Campbell Rd; I realized how difficult it was to get back onto Hands Mill Highway travelling north. I wrote to the DOT and a reduced speed sign was installed just before that intersection. It was only installed on the southbound side; still need one on the northbound side. Does anyone care that these signs exist or should I just go away? Thanks.

Are you suggesting that just because scofflaws don't follow the rules those rules should be abandoned? That's called anarchy. Consider that if some speed limit is actually posted it makes it a little easier for law enforcement to make citations stick, because the violator will have a much harder time claiming they didn't know. Imposing a rule on a specific portion of a road is one thing. Actually following through and enforcing that rule is whole different problem.

I am not suggesting that these signs be taken down; sorry if I made it seem that way. I just wish that people would obey these signs. They are there for a reason; (dangerous intersection); before someone gets seriously hurt or even killed.

That is a bad intersection, I didn't realize signs had been installed. I live south of the convenience center and it is difficult to return home turning south on Hands Mill when the Nuke plant changes shifts. Vehicles come up over that hill flying.

It doesn't help that brush at that intersection is sometimes overgrown, limiting already poor sight lines.
