I imagine 90-100 degree weather in a drier climate would be quite comfy. I visited AZ one summer and was amazed by the dry heat that didn't feel hot, not like a wet heat; you didn't even sweat because the moisture just wicked away. Bring on the heat. My daughter and I are among the few who love cold weather and we'll take the precautions necessary. The absence of hurricanes is #1 on our list. That said, the Houston area and surrounding towns are exploding because of the abundant work; in the refineries and the offices they require, in the field work, welding, boilermaker, carpenter, pipefitter, etc etc. Then you have the doctors, lawyers and other pros who are needed. There's plenty of work here. However, I'm retired and my daughter, who will be my roomie, is content with whatever she can find in Williston while she studies for her degree. We are the last surviving members of our family and need a change of venue! One thing I don't like about the Houston area is its overall (not everyone, mind you) sense of clique. If, for instance, you don't work for Exxon in Baytown you are not considered worthy. LOL!! So I'm hoping to leave that atmosphere behind and make new friends in Williston. I really appreciate everything I read on the message board and place it on the scales. It always tilts toward Williston. We hope to move our plans ahead a couple of months! I'm eager to move.
