Researching a possible relocation. Before I get to the point of visiting the city I'm gathering intel. I have a job and work remotely so don't care about job market
Empty nester on my mid 40s so don't care about things to do. I like the affordable cost of houses.

What is the climate/weather like there for all 4 seasons? Overall is it a nice place to live? What's it like there?

I am close to your age, work remotely and recently relocated to the Wichita area from TX. It is nice so far. There are a couple of health food stores here which I like and some good restaurants. I reside in a town 3 miles south of Wichita since that was the only place where I was able to find an apartment quickly at the time I needed to move. The winters can get brutally cold sometimes but the snow does not stay on the ground too long which is good. I like the 4 seasons and I am sure the summers won’t be excessively hot like where I lived previously. Have a blessed day.

What a strange thread. We spent Spring Break in Wichita and really liked it. My family wants to move there, although that's not going to happen. Wichita is too small; I'd have to drive to KC every weekend. However, the people are SO much less arrogant than Colorodans, and an area is all about the people. Traffic is non-existent, the weather isn't as brutally dry as Colorado, and food prices are much lower.

Is it perfect?

No.

BUT it's beautiful, safe, and clean.

Can't ask more from any place.

Yeah, Wichita has its fair share of crime... Not in a pleasant area of the country in terms of geography, lack of tree cover, and climate.

I agree, sir. Also, the Wichita area is very socially conservative/religious and not welcoming of any type of growth and diversity. I don't like how the closest large metro areas are almost 3 hours away which is quite far for a day trip.

Pretty much all cities have a fair share of crime.

Wichita is not Chicago, Detroit or Baltimore though.

I do agree about the geography though. Not the most exciting, hence my remark about it being not perfect.
