Some backgrounds:
we are foreigners at early 30s who just moved to the US. Have limited knowledge of education system here but heard westchester has great school systems. Our son is 2 years old. We are asians.
We both need to commute to midtown, commute time < 1hr is ideal.
Our budget is to put down ~300k with ideally less than 12k/month on mortgage + tax. Need 3bedrooms at least.
What is the best solution(towns) to this? We are currently renting but thinking about buying but sounds like a stretch especially when mortgage rate is so high and inventory is so low. Hope to solicit some thoughts and we don’t mind renting for a while. What is the lifestyle in suburb and if not, the cost of living in the city and private schools?
Hi, you'll find that there are solid options for your search in the Edgewood neighborhood in Scarsdale. The schools are excellent, and there are housing options there with at least three bedrooms that would fit your budget. The commute time from the Scarsdale Metro North station is approximately 35 minutes on the express train, and there is a significant Asian population in Scarsdale.
