In summer KY and FL get the same oppressive in sun easily, also heat and humidity, US humid subtropical areas are crazy. I lived in the 34th parallel most of my life in north AL, and now 27th parallel. Here we get the strong sun for a longer period but it is still very similar.

Big differences exist in heat and humidity when you compare the Louisville, KY urban heat island areas to places that are removed from the city in KY and IN at around double the elevation of the city. I rarely ever get above 90F or have low temperatures warmer than 70-72F in my area of Floyd County, Indiana in the summer at around 900 ft. elevation with very dense tree cover.
