Winnipeg for half-decent summers. It can snow and frost in Calgary in any month of the year. Calgary has no summers to speak of, honestly. As for the winters, it can get equally cold in both places. Calgary just has more intense and frequent midwinter thaws.

Of course I am a gardener and it's important to have a somewhat warm and stable growing season. It's very difficult to grow warmth-loving veggies in Calgary without a heated greenhouse.

Not as cold winters and pleasant summers. Overall a very nice climate.

I asked my Winnipeg cousins why they were so much fun.
In Winnipeg you have to create your own fun.
High school reunion was held in..........the Dominican Republic.

Calgary over Winterpeg any day.

Calgary, although its record highs in winter look ridiculously high to me. I haven't ever experienced winters as cold as Winnipeg.
P.S. Interesting that Winnipeg's record highs in every month of the year (except for December, January and February) are higher than Kharkiv's.

Calgary's is too prone to Chinooks to have that cold of averages, perhaps you thought Calgary had a climate similar to Edmonton?

Edmonton - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I honestly thought Calgary had warmer summers, however.

I am sure it was in Dominican, so many of the people probably don't even live in the city anymore.

Lots of the smart people who were born in winnipeg leave once they graduate with a degree.

Know way more people who have left the city than those still in it. Weather is not the only reason for this too, our city creates no new jobs, nothing happening in this city, crime is way too high.

Once you leave, you don't look back.
