It's not even in DC. That's shot in "Midtown" New York.

The guy runs a blog for DC area neighboorhoods, and lives in the DMV area, he's speaking on DC/DMV the whole video.

People like myself who live in the area some claim is "uptown" don't use the term.
That some guy up in New York uses the term doesn't seem compelling.

Uptown as a place definitely exists for native DC residents. Also, many kids refer to southeast DC as simply, Southside.

The term "uptown" has existed in DC since the 19th century. undisputed fact. if you listen to gogo music or local hip hop, Uptown is referenced frequently and native black Washingtonians definitely use it.
