A little cynicsm or perhaps common sense would have served you well. Not to mention the county.

It was clear to anyone that this would happen. High expectations are only justified when there is a high level of expertise.

None of us are perfect and we are all given to wishful thinking at times. But we react by simply admitting we were wrong and endeavoring to learn a lesson. What we don't do is dig in our heels and make inane excuses for supporting a very bad idea.

I think you're talking about hikerMD. You and that person had the back and forth. And if you are calling people out, obviously it was not clear to everyone that this would happen. Nor should it be. People can have any expectations they wish.

Meh. It is what it is. There will always be support and opposition for such a high profile project.

I wouldn't expect people to admit anything online. Perhaps that's wishful thinking?

I freely admit when I am wrong. The Purple Line is not an example of that.

Peoples' expectations need to be based on objective reality, not emotions, wishful thinking, and fluffy duffy nonsense. Just because a bunch of naive and greedy politicians start tacking on labels such as "Green" does not mean the project is worthwhile.

And "Meh" is the ultimate cop out. Environmental damage to Rock Creek and other watersheds plus billions of dollars wasted on a vanity project that could only benefit developers. I can think of several better uses of such funds for public transportation and you should be able to as well.

And hikerMd should come out and admit fault as well. And that is not wishful thinking. Wishful thinking is what created this gigantic screw up in the first place.

Sorry, I haven't been checking this forum much. What's this thing I should be admitting fault on?

I freely admit when I'm wrong too! I really enjoy learning, and being proven wrong is another form of updating your knowledge, so it comes easy to me.
