I'm not a videographer or photographer, but the link that follows is an act of videography obviously, and I can't find a more appropriate board on C-D, so I put it on Videography. Here it is...
Why do some YT videos appear rotated 90 degrees? How can a laptop using viewer get around this and turn it correctly without physically turning the device?
Looks like they started recording with the phone in a portrait orientation then turned it sideways while recording. My iPhone locks itself into whatever orientation it's in when recording starts and won't switch on the fly.
I don't know of any way to rotate it in a web browser. If I really needed to do that, I would download the video and use the Quicktime player to rotate the video. That's on a Mac, there are almost certainly similar ways to do it on a WinPC.
Maybe they figured you'd be laying down while watching this particular video.
