Ground flax seeds offer more health benefits than whole seeds. Whole flaxseed may pass through your intestine undigested, which means you won't get all the benefits.

I eat flax daily mixed into my yogurt or oatmeal. You can also use it to replace eggs in baked goods. I've done it with whole grain muffins a few times. https://www.bobsredmill.com/recipes/...-egg-replacer/

Just buy the ground flax and store it in a dark spot. Otherwise try a spice grinder. A blender or food processor might also work. Given the small size of the seeds a coffee grinder would be my last choice.

And Threestep--I'd love a recipe for homemade crackers with flax!

you can toss ground flaxseed into practically anything. I put it in my morning eggs and broccoli, sprinkle it on salads or sandwiches, add it to soup...

I add it to breadcrumbs and put it on broiled veggies with some parmesan, you could do that with mac n cheese, pasta, chicken or anything else you would put breadcrumbs on. I also swap some flour out with flax when I bake bread.

I like cinnamon flaxseed muffins. I have also done this in a cake pan, may be easier for some. I love them.

We grind the whole seeds in a coffee bean grinder and keep in the frig in an air-tight container.

Then we sprinkle a T or so onto our morning cereal or oatmeal.

Or on top of yogurt or cottage cheese. Or on our fruit cup.

Its taste is good--a bit nutty.

I used to put it in my smoothies. Sometimes I make asian version of protein bars where I mix powdered nuts + powdered flax seeds with maybe honey or little jaggery(less processed version of sugar and much healthier).

You can also add powdered flaxseeds to almost everything like pancake, curries, salad or oatmeal.

There are many ways you can add it to your daily intake - add them to your cereal, yogurt, bread, cookies, muffins, etc. You mentioned you're not vegan nor vegetarian, so you can also add them to your meat patties in grill. If you love smoothies and make some fine powder of seeds and sprinkle for smoothies to add some flavour. Also, you can use flex seeds oil for salad dressing as well.
