COL is about offerings.

Utah offers the outdoors. That’s literally it. And it’s not even a full experience. Limited plant life, natural river and lakes…just reservoirs. But gorgeous, unbeatable mountains.

So it really offers mountains. That’s literally it. And I am not talking about things 5 hours away, because that’s tru for any city.

For what it OFFERS (including the quality of house, culture, and experience), SLC is second only to Boise in how expensive it is on the West Coast imo and largely the entire east coast as well.

What you pay for in Utah is a frugal government who doesn’t know how to manage growth, funding into a religion and not the state (look up how awful dated structures and green space is for this city, horrendous), a religious culture who are unprepared for life outside the bubble, so everyone’s 5+ kids stay here, and finally the mass Californian exodus coming over.

THIS is where your money goes in Utah, and it is what you’re paying for. These are the offerings. And in this it is stupid expensive here.
