This thread is about human scale neighborhoods.

Human scale neighborhoods are defined by narrow streets and not so tall buildings.

Human scale neighborhoods are walkable, cozy and interesting.

The exterior walls of human scale neighborhoods provide shade in the summer and protection against wind in the winter.

Human scale neighborhoods are cost effective and good for the environment.

Here are some examples of human scale neighborhoods:

Not Just Bikes just recently published a video addressing the topic of human scale in a way.

Yes. It's the carbon copy of the Ridge Hill Mail in Yonkers NY. It's "the modern town square where your week begins and ends." https://ridgehill.com. No one lives within walking distance, it's a strictly drive to four or five story garage building. No nearby housing.

New Town in Williamsburg VA is outdoor shopping mall made to look like a fake town square. Everyone drives to it anyway. https://newtownwilliamsburg.com

It's a fairly common type of mall design. If you aren't familiar with it, you might think its an actually city street. Instead it's a cheap replicate of city square.

Yep, check "Southlake Town Centre" (note the pretentious "re" spelling) in that suburb of Ft. Worth/Dallas, basically a fake urbanesque small town business district plopped down between three freeways and an ocean of parking lots.

There is a lot of housing near this one (Farmers market/Grove) but other than that, yeah, it's Faux Town Square
