It seems that in every generation of the royal family, there is that controversial “problem” child.

Does Meghan Markle fit that role in the eyes of Brits today?

Why would the Brits consider her “their” child?
She was/is a Hollywood “creation”.

No. Dianna had a problem fitting herself in, but I think she was generally well loved by the general population. I doubt that she was considered to be a "problem child"

And why shouldn't the royal family have a few oddballs just like any other family. They are human beings, not cartoon characters.

Plus Diana worked really hard for the charities she supported, went on many trips in support of them. I haven't seen the Hollywood pair do that. A podcast doesn't count as hard work, imo.
She (Diana) earned respect because she worked hard. It is not automatic. I think Ms Markle thought she could get the adulation without any hard work, & when that did not happen, she threw a tantrum & left. Of course that is only my opinion, so it's worth what you paid for it

Diana was loved and Markle is rightly despised. She's as far from the new Diana as you can get

Rightly or wrongly, people accuse her of "pu$$Y whipping" Harry away from his family.

Harry is a weak and troubled person, and Markle saw this and used it to her advantage to do a smash-and-grab on the royal family. We always hear that the first thing that abusers do is separate the target of their abuse from family and friends so the target loses his/her support system and finds it harder to fight back. Markle is going right down this path with Harry, though she's alienated her whole family also. I don't know how the royal family didn't stop this marriage. There were so many red flags with this woman, even before the wedding.

And I love how these uber-feminists like Markle derive all their status and power from the men they marry. There's another well-known example of this in the US. Practice what you preach if you expect thinking people to take you seriously.

Diana was troubled but she did a lot of service and didn't seem to seek personal financial gain from all of it. Anything that Meghan does is only for the publicity and/or money that she can get from it.

Diana was loved around the world, Markle isn't even liked by her own family!

No way, and she's nothing to do with the royal family.

Slanderous trouble maker, pretender, actress.
