I can't see Scotland staying in the long term, this will be the final straw. Many brexit supporters don't actually care though, people like RC on this forum say quite openly that they want them to leave.
This anti-British attitude from many Brexiteers is because they are basically English nationalists, they don't care about the UK as a country, they want an ethno-nationalist little England instead.
My wife and I are of scottish heritage, and I love Scotland. But they are not going to leave no matter what the silly pole numbers there pushing right now say, The EU isn't going to take in another welfare state, and they will be bankrupt in a month and they know it.
talking tough about leaving is one thing, casting a ballot to actually do it is another thing all altogether.
in any case if they do vote to leave I will congratulate them as well, and wish them good luck.
God save Britain. Will it remain intact? How far will life quality fall? Interesting times ahead, if nothing else.
End of the first day of our freedom, so far I would say my life quality has 'risen', definately better than it was yesterday when I was stuck at work, just got paid too so much richer. I thought I was supposed to be queueing for my bread today?
Congrats on y’all taking back your country
Your closest ally is in your corner. ... Over here most people seem to see Brexit in a positive light. The UK is too great of a country to accept being overrun with foreigners who don’t have any intentions of living as British people.
Hopefully a way is found to encourage Scotland to accept the new reality and reaffirm their commitment to remaining in the UK.
If that happens I have a feeling you’d have America on your side. But it’s all hyperbolic nonsense. No one’s going to war over Brexit.
You've missed the point, of course no one is going to war over Brexit, but if there is ever another such war in the future Britain is going to be the odd man out. And if for, say trade reasons, America could well end up on the side of Europe should they join the hostilities.
