It’s a fair opinion that the Michigan woman's perception could’ve been true. The way I see it is, integration is still a work in progress. If a white person moves into a black neighborhood it’s going to be uncomfortable. If she goes to a restaurant where they don’t have white customers, it just might be uncomfortable. We’ve still got a lot to work out.

So, in 2022, after all the weirdness in our country, (Covid 19, violence, outbursts, etc.) where IS a safe place to live in Tyler? Nobody, on any of the previous posts, actually said an area or any specific streets, neighborhoods that are safe for a female, of any color, to live? My mom moved to Tyler a few years ago, found a decent neighborhood, so did both of my sisters, but they're all in different parts, randomly. They haven't lived there long enough to really know either. I'm thinking of moving there, but cant tell where the safe parts are. Any suggestions? Zip codes? And, no need to lecture me on diversity. I keep to myself and like it that way. I don't certainly want anyone yelling at me on my front porch and I don't want to be surrounded by ANY group of people who encroach on my space. Living out a ways is fine, but where? How does a person identify where the good/safe parts of Tyler are? Can anyone be specific? Thanks

Tyler is pretty safe in general, unless you're living in the hood. In my experience, it doesn't matter what color or gender identity or whatever you claim. Just mind your own business and keep your property up and you should be fine.

You can look up zip codes and crime rates I believe. And here's a good tool:

If you want to live "out," you can live in Whitehouse, Arp, Mineola, Hawkins, Chandler, Brownsboro, Bullard, etc.
