Homicide. It aired for probably a dozen years spanning the 1960s into the 1970s and 400-500 episodes were filmed. I've always preferred the early episodes with John Fegan as Inspector Jack Connolly.

I saw an episode of Dirty Jobs they did with some opal miners. It certainly changed my view of Alice Springs, which I had assumed was an wonderful, lush place to visit. My gosh, the flies !!
