What is the best Australian TV series you've ever seen? (80s)

A Town Like Alice, but it wasn't TV - it was a movie made some 40 years ago.
Series.... McCleod's Daughters. Dang, some of those women did look good on a horse!
Pine Gap was most engrossing.

Tidelands, a semi-fantasy about mythical sirens and "normal" humans

Wanted, about two unrelated women on the run from a criminal conspiracy

Border Security: Australia's Front Line, a reality show about Australia Customs and Quarantine

Serangoon Road, an HBO Australia show that takes place in Singapore in the 1960's

Homicide. It aired for probably a dozen years spanning the 1960s into the 1970s and 400-500 episodes were filmed. I've always preferred the early episodes with John Fegan as Inspector Jack Connolly.

I saw an episode of Dirty Jobs they did with some opal miners. It certainly changed my view of Alice Springs, which I had assumed was an wonderful, lush place to visit. My gosh, the flies !!
