Reports of a small tornado impacting some parts of the western Victorian ( Australia ) town of Horsham yesterday.

BOM investigating whether tornado tore through Horsham
Some Horsham North residents in Victoria's west will need to rebuild their homes after a suspected tornado ripped through early this morning.

Strong winds just after 1:00am tore roofs off houses north of Wavell Street, snapped tree trunks and left sheets of metal wrapped around trees.

About 70 to 80 houses have been damaged and the clean-up is continuing.

Two people were temporarily trapped inside a house after the roof of a neighbour's home blocked their door, the Victorian State Emergency Service (SES) said.
Residents at four properties have been relocated, the SES said, and the local council has organised accommodation for one homeowner.

It has been described as one of the most damaging weather events in Horsham's recent history.

More than 3,200 residents lost power but it was all restored by 10:00am, electricity company Powercor said.

BOM investigating whether weather event was a tornado

The weather bureau said specialist investigators would look into the event to see whether it was a tornado or a strong storm cell.

"There is potential that it could just have been a very strong downburst of winds," Chris Arvier from the Bureau of Meteorology said.

"However, the swath of damage that moved through Horsham is quite narrow ? that does make the situation of the tornado a bit more plausible."

Here it is March 1st. and so we in East Texas are officially in our Tornado season. (though they even happen in Dec.)

I hope there is nothing to report here, yet I look forward to being informed by the rest of y'all about what your threats are and how it goes during this timetable.

We can hope, wish, pray for each others' area as we know of the various threats.

Yesterday we had chance of a few of them, so said the Storm Prediction Center but thankfully even our instability became a bit better and nothing happened.

OH! for anyone that doesn't follow the SPC online, here is the link.

Well, the house across from the one I grew up in was hit today as was the Sawmill Restaurant, south of Brent AL on Highway 5. From there, it went on the southeast side of Centreville where the area near the airport sustained heavy damage. I hope everyone is OK. We’ll be there in exactly one week. I’m glad we have a “there” to go to....my aunt’s house is fine.
