Hidden gem? I would say the Labrador Hollow Unique Area qualifies. Just south of Route 80 in Apulia. Never heard of it until last year. After a short 150 yd. walk from the parking lot, you emerge out on the shore of a lake you would swear was in the middle of the Adirondacks. Absolutely beautiful in the Fall.
What is a hidden gem in the area that you feel residents overlook? You can mention more than one thing, if you like to.
Wow! Reading through the comments others have made, there's a whole ton of things I've missed out on! Most of the items I've never heard of or knew much about. Lots to look forward to when I move back to NY.....can't wait for that to happen and be back amongst the normal people.
Highland Forest is pretty magical. I ditto Pratt's Falls and the trails surrounding it. Green Lakes and the miles of trails above them. The Art Park in Cazenovia.
As you may be able to tell....I'm big on trails.
Oh, in Manlius, there's the fish hatchery behind Dunkin' Donuts.
I have to explore some of the above mentioned places! Thanks!

Cazenovia has an Art Park? Nice..... Where is it located?
The road is up the hill from the village... toward Hamilton, on 20, just past where the Tops plaza/McD's is. Take a right on Stone Quarry Road and it's not too far down the road.
