Just watched the St. George City Council meeting for July 14th.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR7Mz4DM9LQ

The main discussion seemed to center around water issues for the St. George area.
Unfortunately, the City Council and Mayor don't have a clue what to do.
They want to, and approved, nanny-state restrictions including replacing every water meter with a continuously-connected cell phone data water meter in every house so they can watch when you flush your toilet.
Who gets that data? How's it protected?
Furthermore, they say you all have to conserve water, but offer no targets or goals. Instead they're focused on surveillance and turning in your neighbors if they have a slip and slide going.

They could easily solve this problem with more education and targets, but instead are using this crisis to shoehorn in more intrusive technology and snitching on your neighbor. They also want to be able to enter your house at any time without a warrant, to "look at your water meter"

The City Council seems to forget they work for us.

Much like Los Angeles used COVID to lock things down and pass laws restricting freedoms, St. George is using water to lock down and snitch on your neighbor, and introduce mass-surveillance technologies.

All they need to do is look south at Las Vegas and get some ideas from the Southern NV Water Authority. They have many ideas they can model and implement.

I see water waste in St. George all the time. It's nuts.
